Tekalhaus Dachshunds were founded in 1992 with our first Std Long coming from the Feoirlinn Kennels. Feoirlinn Make My Day at Tekalhaus - Gizmo was a stunning shaded red and we had enormous fun with him both in and out of the show ring.
He was to be joined by Feoirlinn Bronty with Tekalhaus - Bronté our fabulous foundation bitch. Bronté made breed history by becoming the first Dachshund in the UK to have a litter by Artificial Insemination using a magnificient black & tan from the USA, AM/AUST CH Boondox Ziggurat, now owned by Judy & Alan Poulton in Australia (Laurieton Longs). We produced some wonderful puppies and kept two here at Tekalhaus.
Dion - Tekalhaus Liquid Gold also produced a litter again by Artificial Insemination, this time using AM/SA CH Siddachs Maestro to Nibelheim. Maestro was the top dog all breeds in South Africa for 1996 & 1997. His owner Gérard Robinson now has one of his off spring . From this litter we were to produce our first Champion in CH Tekalhaus Krugerrand. A repeat mating has given us a wonderful male Maguire Champion & Australian Champion Tekalhaus Materpiece Sh CM, now being campaigned, also Elyse SA Champion Tekalhaus Svartsien to Nibelheim, now resident in South Africa with Gérard Robinson.
We have now produced three CHAMPIONS.
Ch Tekalhaus Krugerrand
Ch/Aust Ch Tekalhaus Masterpiece
SA CH Tekalhaus Svartisen.
Our latest edition is a daughter by Ch T Masterpiece. Darcey is a beautiful shaded red girl with an enoromus personality.
In September 2007 we will have a new arrival from Mauritius. COCO a stray there whelped puppies on our patio, and as her life hung in the balance, we decided to give her a home here with us. We are looking forward to seeing her again and giving her a life she deserves.
Tekalhaus is not just for the pampered pedigrees. Now Coco has arrived and Darcey has a new friend to play with now that her father Aust Ch/Ch. T Masterpiece is in Australia for a while. All have settled in very well together to become a happy and energetic family...
UPDATE... Maguire has returned from Australia with a string of accolades and has sired some very promising progeny. We hope to see Laurieton His Masters Voice here at Tekalhaus in 2010.
